Wow! im proud of maself! i came out wit a not-really-a-poem about ma Daddie. a few help from Inspirational websites.
Enjoy! When you were young, pony-tailed, face full of playful freckles, were you a daddy's girl? I was. I still am. I'm your little girl ,Daddy as you carried me over your shoulders. singing me Barney's "I love you" song, listening to you as i drift to sleep. i turned 7 that year, 1st day of Primary school. made sure i board the school bus & didn't shed a tear, always saying making new friends was cool. i turned 13, six years later, 1st day of Secondary school life. you made sure i made it to class earlier, when i didnt realise, you left soon after. i turned 16 shortly. got into few troubles but yet you didnt yell. you try to settle things fairly, you would cover up for me and never put me through Hell. Now im 17, going on 18, I'm almost on my own. I'll always be your favourite daughter, being the best i can be. I just want you to know, daddy. i love you so dearly and I'm still your little girl clearly. what happens when i get married one day? it will be time to give me away. i'll be all grown up Daddy but don't fret, i'm just a phone call away. My daddy was the center of my small world, the focus of my affections, the star that lit my life, shining bright. The years have led me with maturity & responsibilites, and I see more clearly now. The hardships, burdens of love, and all the small sacrifices he made for me, for our family. My respect for him is unending, Faith is unbound and Love is unquestioning. Even in the midst of all my imperfections, he is lenient. ignoring the pitfalls and the downfalls he just accepted me as I was, as I am. He's my hero, and I am his daughter, his little girl. |
